The Nike Sportswear "Sharpie" Pack features two of Penny's signature sneakers the Nike Air Foamposite One, and new to the edition the Nike Air Penny 6. Paying homage to becoming the first player in the history of the NBA to score 40 points in back-to-back playoff games when his team
scored less than 100.
The Foamposite One also has a bit of history itself behind the whole "Sharpie" name. From when the league had certain restrictions on players and what colors they could wear and if it coordinate properly with there jerseys.
But, how the story goes was that team owners would not let Penny wear his OG version of the Foamposite One, mainly because the sneaker didn't sport enough black in the upper to match with their uniforms. So instead of not taking off the sneakers, Penny used a black sharpie marker on the ridges of the sneakers and wore them. Hence the name, however these to sneakers come together in a pack, releasing on July 4 for $500.
